Introducing Windfall Scores and a completely new Segments experience
The Segments page has been completely rebuilt from the ground up after extensive user feedback: new layout, new data and improved weather forecasting.
Windfall Scores
Every segment now gets a Windfall Score: a percentage that predicts how likely you are to get the KOM based on today’s wind conditions and your recent power data.
- Strong (120%+) - the wind is in your favour, go ride this
- Good (90–119%) - solid chance with a good effort
- Fair (70–89%) - possible but you’ll need to push
- Low (below 70%) - not your day for this one
The score factors in wind speed, wind direction relative to the segment’s bearing, and the power you’d need to beat the current KOM. Segments are sorted by Windfall Score so the best opportunities are always at the top. Segments that are too technical or dangerous are excluded from the results.
Free users can see the top 3 Windfall Scores per search. Premium users see all 50.
Split-pane map and list
The old single-column layout is gone. The new view puts a full interactive map on the left and the segment list on the right. Hover over a segment to see it highlighted on the map. Click to zoom in and see the route.
Segments on the map are colour-coded by Windfall Score for Premium users, so you can visually scan for the best opportunities without reading a single number.
Smart weather forecast
The weather strip shows current conditions at a glance. Premium users can expand the full forecast panel to see:
- Next 3 hours - hourly breakdown with wind speed, direction, and temperature
- Tomorrow - morning, midday, and evening riding windows showing the peak conditions within each window (not just a fixed time snapshot), so you know the optimal departure time
- Later this week - a quick look at the days ahead
The forecast highlights the best riding window automatically and flags rain risk so you can plan accordingly.
Route builder
Premium users can select multiple segments and automatically generate the shortest loop that covers all of them, starting and ending from your searched location. Pick your top Windfall Score segments, hit “Build route”, and get a rideable GPX that you can upload to your bike computer.
What else is new
- Improved filters: surface type (all, paved, unpaved) and segment type (sprint, climbs) now sit in a single always-visible bar. No more expanding and collapsing filter panels.
- Segment detail panel: click any segment to see your PB/PR, the KOM time, and a full Windfall breakdown showing the wattage needed and your wind advantage.
- Popularity indicator: more emphasis on less crowded segments, as fewer riders means a better shot at the KOM.

KOM times and PR data are now visible to all users to get a sense of how close you are to the KOM. The Windfall Score is what tells you when conditions tip the odds in your favour.
